I have sub here frequently. As a concerned citizen I must say this school is not what it appears. The administration in this school is discriminatory against Latino and Hispanic students. A 7 yr. old boy was arrested last year for no good reason, only because his color of skin didn't please them. Hispanic students are denied opportunities and unfairly persecuted . Bauer, Vooght, Murphy, and Vartanaian are like the Nazi. The number of minorities is growing in this school, and one AP, Murphy, I overheard disgustingly compare it to schools in Rockaway. A special ed. teacher once mocked a kid for wearing Puerto Rican day celebration clothing. If this is not racist then I don't know what is. The custodians are disgusting, they mop lunchroom tables with dirty mops in front of the principal. Teachers and staff mock Beacon kids (gifted), calling them weird, awkward, entitled, self righteous. The food is disgusting. Mice, bed bugs, roaches, and lice live comfortably here. And the school aids scream at the kids and blow whistles in their faces. Kindergarten kids have been lost and quietly found. Teachers dismiss Spanish speaking only parents. Sexual harassment occurs between older and younger students. The kids suffer in heat while the principal enjoys a comfortable office with AC. I think the only decent people here is security. Gov. Cuomo needs to put undercover investigators here and catch these horrible people.
